Looking at the various pictures posted on this forum and others, it seems that there has been significant difficulty getting clean mounting position for the CTS. The "pod" looks like a compromise with the unit mounted in front (there isn't room for a pod on the sides of the CTS).

I found that a nice clean mount is accomplished by flipping the mount that comes with the device upside down. The unit sits at just the right position at just the right angle as shown in these two pictures. I hope this helps!




p.s. I tried using "insert image" option, which inserts an [IMG] string with the url in it, but it doesn't show up; I am not sure why.

I agree it doesn't fit too bad mounted that way and looks good from the seat, but I didn't like the way it looks from the outside. I went ahead and mounted mine in the 2009 pod and am pretty happy with it.

 

Good point on how it looks from the outside. Your pictures of the pod look better than the first ones I saw. I may get one and have a local shop paint it king-ranch-red to match my dash. I am tempted to try paining it myself, but it is so hard to get paint with an added plasticizer to match.
