Is it worth it?

Okay so I have done endless reading on this forum and on the web. I have come to the conclusion I want a Edge CS with custom tunes, but I was thinking I could buy the Edge and use the "canned tunes" everyone on the site hates for a little while until I got some custom tunes from Bill. My real questions are, is it worth using the canned tunes? Can I still get custom tunes to load later? I would like some power gains and mainly have my transmission shift cleaner and lose that delay and have my truck calibrated to my tires.
Thanks in advance

Worth it? Yes.

Run canned now, get custom later? Yes.

"Endless" reading does not always confer "endless" comprehension

I assume the stickies were on yer reading list?

May also want to join the forums over @ www.gopowerhungry.com

Thanks MGD. You always seem to be the first to help on these tune threads. But yes I have read the stickies. I plan on ordering my tuner soon and eventually contacting php. I will check out their forums or help too. Is their any risk of harming my truck with just canned tunes?

I went back to my canned tow tune for several reasons, One I had to sell my intake cause I needed money, among other things.

i plan on returning my gryphon to stock and using the gotts mod and the canned 91 tune.

Best watch the tow tune when its wet and you are not loaded, my truck gets a little spin happy at times.

Thanks!

No sir -no harm running canned for the wait period.

Member 'Shotgunz' may be from NC, but he is as cautious and discerning a feller as y'all will find anywhere, and he is currently running a canned tune on his CTS fer his '09.

I can leave a one liner until my limited slip catches, then I get a small two tire track. But that was with street tires, almost bald.

Now with my new set of tires I try to not spin them so much.

That limited slip has gotten me out of a few tight spots in the mud.

Your limited slip shouldn't take any time to "catch." As soon as you hit the gas, there is great force pushing on the clutch pack due to the angle of the gear teeth. I don't know what is wrong, but you should leave two tracks from the start. If you have well over 100K miles, your clutch pack may be worn out.

Dad tells me I should change the fluid and see if that fixes it.

With my old tires I could light them both up but the L.S would not catch until after i left 1-2 foot on one tire.

It also failed me when I dropped a tire down in mud and had the other on solid ground.

It did eventually catch but I spun a bit.

Don't mind me, I tend to over state things, its likely working fine.
