Will I have any problems with a Superchip Cortex? I was told by a shop owner this is the best aftermarket tune available for my truck. I want more pickup power plus more gas mph. This truck will not be pulling a trailer. My concerns are tranny will anything happen to it? What is the advantage of having a Superchip Cortex vs. SCT, Grypon or any other tuner available?

you for sure need to find another shop, as they are misinformed


while it's a decent canned tuning device, a custom tuned tuning device (see the sticky's) will put it in it's place

 

Does the Cortex have tunes for the intake or is it designed for stock trucks?

As jerame suggested, a custom tuned device is your best chance of increasing performance and MPG.

Note however, that MPG increase is a total crap shoot. Do not purchase a programmer unless you are going to be satisfied with improved driveability and better shifting. If you get better MPG, consider yourself lucky.
