12-15HP, and 18-20TQ
Hi all, I was wondering if you would be able to feel a difference with an added 12-15hp, and 18-20TQ. To be honest I have a 1999 Mercury cougar that I'm wanting to get tuned and this is the quoted power gains from the tune. I was wondering if that would be a noticeable difference or not.
Also I have an xcal2 that I used to tune my F150 it has 3 unlocks left, can I use this to program my mercury cougar?

Depends upon the mass of the target vehicle - something as light as that car - almost certainly, provided the TQ gains are in the meat of the powerband. Also depends upon the calibration of yer butt-dyno
. (Timeslips will tell the true story). And yes - folks like Troyer Performance, etc, can indeed custom tune that car - it's Ford OBDII.
Good luck.

Sweet, My car definitely needs a tune. My 2005 f150 supercab does a faster 0-60 time then that car. My cougar is a lot lighter then the truck, but VMP, and troyers tunes make it nice an fast. I put a new intake on the cougar and it helps out around the 3k and higher rpm range, but it needs help in the low end. I'll have to call troyer up. I just wasn't sure if he tuned cars, I know he specializes in trucks and does a great job on them. If he can tune the cars just as good, it would be awesome. Thanks for the info.
