i have 02 5.4.... which programmer has the best "canned tunes" for my truck. which will provide me with the most power.

 

A Superchips Flashpaq works well for me.

There's a bunch of those available......
Edge/PHP CS+CTS.
Diablo trinity+predetor
SCT xcal3+livewire.
Superchips cortex+flashpac.

All of these along with some others I forgot will give you the same amount of gains with canned tunes.

Stay away from edge evolution for the 97-03 f150.....don't want you to experience the cable issue.....its bad.......if it happens to you

Personally find someone who sells programmers and writes custom tunes.

You can start with a tool like the Predator, and if you decide you want a custom tune somewhere down the road, the Predator supports that option.

Not to mention, Predators are a great deal these days.

 

what kind of power gains am i looking at mike?

 

On an 02 5.4, you should pick up about 20 rwhp on premium fuel, 12-15 on 87 octane.

You'll also see a good jump in low end torque, like 20-25 ft/lbs to get that thing moving.

Also, better throttle response, improved shifting, and all around better driving experience.
