max energy power programmer on 2010 f150

Hey all. New to the forums. I know pretty much nothing about mechanics and all of that stuff. I recently bought a 2010 v8 4.6 3v f150. I want to raise the acceleration and horse power and speed and all of that with the tuner i have ordered which is the max energy power programmer.

can someone please go threw the settings with me? what should i put for the settings and all of that.

First it asks for regular or premium fuel, i select regular, i know that.

next comes the rev limiter, it says i can increase it in increments of 100 rpm's. What should i increase it to?

Then comes the electric cooling fan, i read that if it's a stock cooling fan to leave it as is. Is this correct?

Speed limiter. I'll probably just disable it.

tire size, i have the stock tires

rear gear ratio. if there's no tire size change that doesn't have to be changed right?

Transmission shift points, What's recommended for what i want? Also says if rev limiter is changed so should the shift points. What do i do?

then is the shift firmness, i hear the higher the better? what do i do?

I believe that's it. I need help bad, wish i grew up in the country!

Each truck responds to tuners differently. Settings that are perfect for one truck might be terrible for another. You will also find not too many people on this forum own Hypertech products.

IMHO, you have two options.

1. Leave the tuner settings alone until you understand EXACTLY what you are changing. When you do, change one thing in small increments and determine if the change is positive. Then change another setting and determine value. Repeat until you're happy or you break something.

2. Read the stickies at the top of the forum and the hundreds of posts on tuners. Send it back and get an SCT XCAL3 with custom tunes from VMP, 5Star, PHP, or Troyer. (This is my recommendation.)

OP - sorry to say, but congrats on purchasing one of the worst devices, save Jet's, for an F150. Or even a Lawnboy. lol.

One-trick pony - small WOT-only improvements (like Jet's), and that's about it.

Also - Consider what you just posted:

"Speed limiter. I'll probably just disable it.

tire size, i have the stock tires"

Now, sir .. does this really sound reasonable to you? Stock tires have marginal speed ratings - hence the FACTORY sets a speed limiter to keep you from dying ( well it's actually to cover their asses ) Still want to go there?

As stated, get rid of this POS, research what is available that actually works, and go from there. Invest the time and call the companies referenced - yer beautiful truck deserves better. Ask them about Hyperblech's track record while yer at it ....

Oh - there is some duderoni named "Hypertech Suppo" on here (either they ran out of letters, or literacy - you decide, lol) - so far - purty spotty "suppo" if ya ask me. Just a search away ...

Hmmm ... I wonder if the Hypercrap factory is next door to the Volant or Jet facility? One, oh, 100 kg KEW should be sufficient... Sorry - y'all will have to figger that one out by yerselves

30-day money back guarantee if yer not absolutely 100% falling down in love with the thing, right?

From: In the fast lane from LA to Tokyo...
Return it if you can
Go with custom tunes instead.
You'll be much happier know that it was done proffessionally than being mass produced.

Nothing wrong with the hypertech. I've used them before. There are other tuners that might? be better, but you've already put out the money so use it and enjoy.

Leave the fan alone. Leave the gear ratio alone unless you have your gears physically changed out at a gear shop. Leave your speed limiter alone unless you change to higher performance tires. Our truck tires are not built for high speed. Leave your rev limiter alone. Leave your tire size alone until you buy bigger tires.

The transmission settings should be made a little bit at a time so you can see what you like. You need to experiment.
