Hypertech MaxEnergy question
Hypertech MaxEnergy question
Hi all,
I have had a Hypertech Max Energy programmer for my 2004 F150 for about three years now. I recently went to the dealership and didn't think much about returning to stock. (All the times before I did and they didn't do anything).
WELL!!! This time they changed my vehicle computer to compensate for the larger tires and shift pattern as I was experiencing some vibration while driving down the road, (which turned out to be a stuck E-Brake) but non the less they did everything they could think to fix my vibration issue.
I know the service folks at this dealership personally and they were extremely apologetic for messing with the vehicle computer after I told them I had already compensated for that tuning with the max energy.
Now when I plug in the tuner a message scrolls across the screen that says something like "hypertech warranty will be voided if this is not being used on the original vehicle it was purchased for, press Y to continue and N to exit."
I was afraid to continue as I figured the Y button would permanently mark the unit inside it's memory a warranty VOID.
Any thoughts? It is the same vehicle it was originally purchased for so I'm curious what will happen if I press Y. Will it allow me to program? Or will I need to send this in for hypertech to reset?
Thanks all!

Always set your vehicle back to stock before bringing it to the dealer............
As stated before contact the programmer company.
The device is locked and they'll have to reset it.
By being locked is that it still has your original stock tune saved in it and when the dealer reflashed your trucks pcm it wiped out your programmer's tune. So now you have 2 stock tunes.

UPDATE:
Hypertech support is awesome, I emailed them information they requested and what they did is set up my tuner for a special internet update that I downloaded using their update software, it flashed my programmer back to a usable state and I just programmed my truck with the hypertech tune I like to run.
No need to send it back to them, they did it over the internet!
