using my predetor

hey guys I just bought a new set of tires for my truck and now I get an air pressure light on the dash. I was wondering if I could clear the code with the predetor I have? Would that work or would it come back? Finally when checking to see if there has been a code should the truck be running? Any Help is appreciated.

Nice truck! Is that a 4x4 or 4x2? (hint)

I didn't know they offered that color in that model year! (hint, hint)

And I'm surprised the TPMS light came on; aren't your new rims and tires the same size as stock? (hint, hint, hint)

Are you receiving me?

If you have a newer truck that has TPMS the tire shop either didn't reset the sensors or they broke one. There is a specific tool to reset the sensors, it's not a regular code that is coming up. I would take it back to get it fixed.

Take your truck back to the tire shop and have them look at it.
The predetor won't help.

Agreed, the TPMS is not part of the tune, it is a different issue somewhere.

hahaha sorry for my idiocy. I'm driving a 2008 FX2 sport. 2 wheel drive, dark shadow grey, leather, cool floor mats and 2 of the biggest cup holders you ever saw! Seriously though, I replaced my stock 20's with a set of 22's 305 45 that I bought off a friend. I put the tires on myself so obviously I had no idea about this tire pressure device. Can I get my dealership to reset it when I bring it in for service or will they charge me an arm, a leg and the rights to my first born?

A little more about the predetor now. Can I use this to change the settings of my computer to compensate for the bigger tires? I.E. my speedo is a little slower now (or so the internet tells me) and I would like to be able to adjust it if possible. Sorry if my question aren't the most intelligent as I am new to the whole tuner thing. If you wanna call a new set of tire tuning that is.

Thanks!

You need TPMS sensors (I think the 2008 uses the band type) in the new rims.

Yes, you can use the predator to change the tire size stored in the PCM.

There should be something in your manual for the predator about changing tire size.
Or on the Diablo website link in my Sig.

I'm just curious.....I have a 2008 FX2 SuperCrew, dark shadow grey, etc and the truck came stock with 18s not 20s. Did you get it new from the dealer?

TPMS Light

If you had aftermarket wheels installed you will need to have the same frequency sensors installed that were on your OEM wheels or if possible, re-install the OEM wheel sensors.

It doesn't take but a few minutes per sensor to reset the light. A sensor may be bad or they cracked one during install.

Ok, so I guess you don't check here often. The 2008 you have, I have also. It doesn't come stock with 20s. I was just curious but you can disregard. It doesn't matter...
