Cal-i-fornia girls are unforgettable...

Sorry, I have that song stuck in my head thanks to the GF. Anyway, first thread on F150online, just got my 07 lariat screw last week. Already did the gotts mod, and I've done a lot of research on tuners but I have a few questions for those of us in California.

1) It seems that PHP won't even sell tuners to CA residents. It seems to me I could run a PHP tuner and then go back to stock come time for emissions, but am I missing something? Or is Edge the only game in town?

2) Can you tell me your experience with Edge canned tunes for a stock + gotts mod 3v 5.4? This will be my 8th car at the ripe age of 23, and the only other chipping I've done was to my 06 GTI. That gave me almost 80 more lbs/feet of TQ and ~30 more hp. Night and day difference. What can I expect with tuning a N/A truck?

Thank you for your help, and I have gone through nearly 30 pages of this subforum but needed some more specific feedback.

I'm pretty sure they will sell them but you have to sign a form that waives them of any liability. At least that's how I understood it. I sure hope I'm right....

I think since you have the GOTTS mod, you pretty well have to buy a Gryphon or from someone else who does custom tunes. Or that was always my understanding if you had a CAI.

No - the Gotts mod does NOT alter the intake geometry at the MAF and it DOES NOT require a custom tune. A custom tune will, however, take advantage of the intake's ability to flow more air.

If you wanted to order from PHP you could always have them send it to a proxy address outside of CA. For me to ship things cheaper I use www.alohaforwarding.com to send stuff to AK, i'd imagine something similar could send to CA and wouldn't cost you much...... just a thought. Sounds like a good reason to get outta Commifornia

Just call PHP and ask.
