Low Idle with Edge Evo.

Ok I just got an edge evo for my 06 f150 4.6L...K&N CAI, Flowmaster 40 series, 37k miles. Right off the bat I noticed it was idleing low and it even died as I was pulling into a parking lot. I chose the custom option for level 1 and adjusted the rpm's some...seemed to help but now it will bounce back and forth between say 400-800 rpm when at idle.....it also threw a code that said something about "lower rpm than system expected" or something like that. I will probably send it to PHP in the near future but can anyone tell me what the problem is for the time being??? Is the K&N causing me to run lean???? please advise....

The K&N could possibly be the problem as the Edge tunes are written for stock intakes. The first thing I would do is clean the MAF and make sure the idle is set at about 800. Cleaning the MAF certainly can't hurt and may solve the problem. There is a How To in the Articles and How To forum if you have never cleaned one.

You have just loaded a new program into your pcm causing it to relearn.
If you have dirty or fouled sensers then that what might bringing the rpms down.

Like stated by Bluejay clean your maf.
Also clean your IAC along with your throttle body and change your fuel filter.

It is the Idle accuator control or something like that. I don't think you have one on the 06, since it is drive by wire. I think that ended with 03.

OMG!
Calm down.
Didn't clean the throttle body or replace the fuel filter yet?
So you must have a IAC, clean that too.

Use the search function of this forum and it will help out a lot.

Also, have you tried contacting edge yet?

The Edge is not causing it. If you returned it to stock and still had the symtom, it is impossible for it to be the Edge tune causing it.

You recently installed a CAI, is the MAF in the same location as the stock intake? Oh, and did you clear the code and it came back? You do have to clear it or it remains. I would clear the code and put the stock intake back on, see if it returns.

So you located it by going to the dealer.
Did you ask if it was serviceable? As far as cleaning goes?

After five days of on and off searching the forum. I finally found the thread that pertains to your situation.
I used "cleaning IAC" up in that thing called search and read through approx 3 pages of flagged threads that contained those key words.
If I can find stuff on a phone imagine how much faster finding it would be on a computer.
