Park/nuetral rev limiter

I'm sure many have noticed that on the 04+ F150's, that the rev limiter tops out just above 4000 RPM's. Is there any way to increase the limiter through my Gryphon?

There's a way to change the RPM limit under custom options (Gryphon manual, page 16).

Unless there's two separate rev limiters? Would be a new one on me.

If he wants to burn up his motor, let him.

A custom tune can also adjust the rev limits.

Well if I have to buy another custom tune just for that, then it basically stops here.

Reving that engine to 6500 rpm in neutral will not harm it. It will however destroy the torque converter.

Depends on how long you've had your tunes, but you might look to see if your tuner would quickly change that one parameter for you for no additional, or a small charge. I'm assuming that you've got the ability to receive tunes via email... right?

I think he intends to revv his truck up in neutral/park to "show off" the full range of his exhaust, that's the only reason I can imagine a person wanting a higher revv limit in that case.

Bingo, but not to anything extreme like 6500. Maybe 6000 at the very highest, but probably around 5500. I might have Bill tweak my 87 whenever I go back for a 93.

So that extra 500 RPM qualifies as extreme huh?

Yep, your best off asking Bill if he would quickly just change that parameter on that one tune. I'd imagine this would take all of but 1 minute tops for a tuner to change 1 parameter to make their customer happy. It shouldn't effect anything else performance wise really to be able to revv your truck higher in Neutral/Park only anyhow, I just wouldn't pin it like that for a long period of time, other than that... have some fun with it

It's my understanding the stock torque converter is only safe to 5400.
