Programmer question??

I am looking to purchase either the gryphon or edge evo.. my question is regarding mounting the programmer.. once programmed do you have to keep the programmer plugged into the OBD port.. i would like to keep my truck stealth.. so could i just update the tune and unplug the programmer and put it away or does it have to be attached to the truck...

(reason being my 07 Harley F150 has piano black glossy panels and either programmers wouldnt match the dashboard)

other option would be to keep plugged in.. if necessary in glovebox...

After programming to your desired tuning level, the programmer and cable can be removed.

If you're not planning on using the real time display, you could save yourself some money and get an SCT XCAL3 instead.

PHP, VMP, 5Star, or Troyer can write custom tunes for the XCAL3. Only PHP can write custom tunes for the Edge/Gryphon Evolution, CS, or CTS.

The pods for the gryphon can be painted.

You won't need paint if you go with the SCT, but Duplicolor makes a plastic paint and should be able to match your dash. You'll have to make sure you use the correct primer.
