Yea u have to spend another $350 or so for an x3 or $575 for a LiveWire but if u don't get it all to tune with u might as well have a baseball and no bat.
i've never heard of any one using SCT livewire for diagnostics. A guy at work has a 6.0 powerstroke with a SCT Xcal3 and has auto enginuity for troubleshooting. The SCT doesn't come close to monitoring egine parameters that the Auto enginuity does like checking sensor readings, injector buzz testing and HPOP statistics. It has paid for itself 4 times over, he was getting ready to replace a $800 oil pump until he bought software and foung that his crank and cam weren't insync and only cost him $50 for a sensor along with a faulty brake pedal switch

Hey it worked for me but I don't have a diesel or never will. It monitors real time parameters the same as Ford's diagnostic tool does. It saved me a trip to the stealership and educated me as to what had happened. Also SCT has every bodies PRP dongle hooked to their vehicle. I wouldn't go diagnosing a vehicle for free.

VMP live wire and LC-1 Wide Band O2 is now ordered.

I'm AMPED for this.

Came with 3 custom tunes. I'll have to decide on exhaust and any other mods I want to do. I asked if he could send the tuner and just finalize the custom tunes when I have the truck more "together".

I think it's good to follow up here gentlemen.

My leaky windsheild had basically shut everything electrical down in my truck. I replaced the windshield 2 times to test and I still had problems with rain and the truck going crazy. Eventually my dash just went out(right after I got the tuner) so it's been collecting dust while I try to fix it. Ford wanted my first born to look at it and replace GEM and not even concern themselves with the fuse box or the leak.

I thought it was the windshield because of the Ford bulliten etc, and the fact I replaced it and then after that it was the problem. I moved to a place where the truck is outside not garaged... It never had time to pool up and then trickle down when it was garaged.

Awe crap!
A leaking windshield caused all those electrical problems?
That's rough.

Don't worry we will still be here waiting for your update.

So I've been messing with this livewire unit for about a month on and off.

I am getting an "invalid block read" error.

I also just got an 02 sensor slow code. I am seriously tired of the back to back problems recently. I'm working with Justin at VMP to figure out why I can't tune the truck yet. I can read codes and clear them but... the rest isn't functioning the way it should.

Booooo.

That's why vehicles are liabilites not investments.

I posted in corectly in fact. The mechanic shop I took it to who I am now a huge fan of spent the time to really diagnose the problem. As I said I was SURE it was the windshield. I was wrong

The roof rack was what where water was getting in. It would then flow forward and pour into the dash through the a pillar I guess. They siliconed it up and badabing.
