Good Grief!!

Waiting that long is BS. They could of at least gave you a discount of some sort on the custom tunes. 20% off for example i not more or even FREE! Thats just crazy to keep saying sorry and string you along for almost a "YEAR"!

Well this is very discouraging news. I ordered my custom X3 at the beginning of October and I was told that it would be a 8-11 week wait. I thought that was kind of a long time, but I've had their tunes in the past and was very happy, so I decided to wait. Well 6 months and 2 phone calls later here I am with broken promises and no programmer. I also got the "sorry it's taking so long, it'll probably be a few more weeks" speech. Again, this is a great company but the wait and lies are absurd.

Lite a fire under their seats and post on all forums their poor customer service. Troyer should get their act together and at least up front tell how long an actual wait time is. Probably 5% of customers may not need the tune anymore due to moving to different altitudes, vehicle write off's and so on. Many things change in a year and so does our expectations of our vehicles and how we want to drive them. Hopefully you never need to send you programer back to them for warranty work or you could be 2 years with out a tuner. I can say for sure even if they had the best programer out there, that I would not wait close to a year for their tardiness or lack of staff to fulfill customer satisfaction. That's what keeps people coming back is good genuine service.

I agree this is BS and BAD customer Service! If you tell someone 8-12 weeks it should be that time. I can understand 1-2 weeks over at MOST. Are you guys being charged before you get the tunes or after you get the tunes just curious?

I would be pist if they told me that and its s been 6 months to a year and would warn others so there not misleaded as well. I REALLY cant believe you guys waiting MONTHS didnt get a kick back in the price!

Sorry to here again and Good Luck!

Yeah, kicking out $400 for a year, what kind of return should I have expected on that?

yeah, I got that too, literally I thought they were making fun of me. It was a big joke so I stopped pestering them and gave up. Then a week before I was going to get tuned locally it showed up. Way worse than waiting for a mail-in rebate

I tired man, they really didnt care. Its obvious they give all their walk in customers priority and us over the phone orders sit in a giant pile. They know how long its going to take, they also know if they told 10-12 months you would tell them to ......

You pay upfront and you go in line when you submit your worksheets. They send you the XCal in a few days (I guess this is their technique to lock you in) then you sit and wait. I already pulled the Troyer sticker off my truck and will try and warn every person I can about their rediculous wait time

Oh, and FWIW: 2mpg increase in gas mileage and my speedo is still 2 mph off. Really expected more (where is the thumb down smiley)

I haven't been charged yet, I have a programmer on my F-350 so I just used that to get the strategy off the F-150. If I had paid last year, I would be on fire right now! I'm still mad though because it's randomly going to be charged to my credit card in the future at a date which I don't know. After this programmer, they've lost my business.

Damn and you have to pay up front too! Im not knocking Mikes tunes I heard they rock! However just dont agree you tell someone 8-12 weeks and its more like 30+ weeks and dont give you a discount for the longer wait. I honestly dont think a 10% discount is going to make them close the doors and if they would give you a more more honest time would be differant. Atleast say it could be up to 1 year that would atleast be "HONEST". But I guess like you said thats how they lure you in since you pay upfront.

Well in this case theres not much you can do since you havnt payed but I know sucks. Atleast this way if you get tired of waiting, Id research into other people to do your tunes. Then call Mike and say never mind I couldnt wait 6 more months and went with someone else. Oh and dont then let them say its done now and try ot charge your credit card because most companys will pull this stunt after they see your going else were!

I did not get charged up front either time. I did order an X-1 and then upgraded to X-2 a few years ago. Troyer will charge you up front if he sends you the tuner right away which is understandable to cover the cost of the tuner(nothing is free). Sometimes you need the tuner to read your strategy for your tunes to be written and work properly. I have experienced my tunes not working when I received them because the strategy was incorrect.

I do agree that the wait is waaaayyy to long.

that sucks too, I would hate to pay all my bills and get hit with a $400+ charge

they didnt even give me a 10% discount, and I am not overly impressed with the tune. I dont do business with people who are not upfront and honest, they got me once but never again....

Has anyone tried requesting a refund and threatening to call the Better Business Bureau?

If any other company promised a product in 2-3 months, and it actually took 4-6 times as long as originally quoted, there's no way they'd stay in business.

Sounds like Troyer needs to be told to "put up or shut up" when it comes to providing tunes. Too bad, I've only heard good things about the actual product.

Hello.

If I may ask, what is it about the tune you find lacking?

As part of the deal, you get as many tuning corrections as needed to dial it in as required free within 60 days. You do need to provide datalogging info though, as the documentation you received explains.

Most tunes are nailed out of the gate, but sometimes some aspect of the specific truck requires data , review and correction.

'Tis the nature of 'remote' email-based custom tuning.

Good luck.
