PHP Gryphon vs VMP SCT

Im debating between a PHP custom tuned Gryphon or VMPs SCT. Based on my use of the "search" function, it appears both are a good choice. My concern is that PHP seems to have family issues and limited hours and a long wait, whereas VMP seems to be on the ball. The only real reason Id go with PHP is to have the readout gauges on the Gryphon.

This leads me to my question. How accurate is the MPG function on the Gryphon? I remember about a year ago seeing people complain that it wasnt very accurate (with the Edge). The MPG display is the only real thing attracting me to the gryphon.

My main concern is having my truck run as efficient as possible with my current lift, tire and gear combo. Both options appear to do the job as well as just doing the canned options. The way I understand, VMP might be more on the ball customer service wise. But... if the Gryphon is worth the wait, then I guess Ill wait...

Its your choice do what you think is best.
Shotgun posted some really good links for you to read.
I have had the gryphon for about a year now with no issues. Its helped me truly enjoy the ride in my truck while driving it.

They're both good products, and I've heard nothing but good things about Justin's tuning.

Just so you know, custom tunes are about five weeks out right now (for customers who sent us their HEX codes); we're just very busy. If our wait is too long, I have no qualms about recommending VMP.

Thanks for the responses. The MPG function Im after seems kind of worthless... Im still going to research both and appreciate being directed to the forum. When its all said and done, I just want to compensate for my lift. Im not after huge power or mpg gains. Just efficiency so I can provide my tranny with a long life of ease. Right now, its working too hard.

FWIW i just got my gryphon the other week and after the first tank of gas i ran with it on there, the display said 15.4 and my actual fill up calculation i did came out to 15.2.... not bad, but ill see how it is after a few tanks.

i just cant wait to get my custom tunes!!!!!!

Electronic MPG displays rarely are accurate. Good old division will always be more accurate. I like my Gryphon for all the other read outs, like cylinder head temp, transmission temp, intake air temp, what gear I'm in.
