Something I can do to fix this LEAN problem?

I dont think its the fuel filter, even though i will buy one and replace it im pretty sure its something i gotta fix with my edge. I put headers on my truck, and i had the heads shaved .0015... so my question is is there a custom setting i can phatin it up?? I see there a WOT fuel, but i have no idea what to adjust it to if that will even work. Please chime in, im tired of seeing that damn service engine soon light come on!

Since you have the edge. What codes are you coming up with?
Also the edge cannot adjust the AFR tables. So the next best thing is get it upgraded to a Gryphon with custom tunes.

You need a custom tune with headers!

The WOT fuel adjustment will not help you. Fill it up with premium, run level 2 and baby it until you get custom tunes. Or take the headers off.

The upgrade doesn't take months from PHP it only takes 4-6 weeks. Might even take a little less or a little more but that's not months.

The long tube headers move the O2 sensors down stream and this may be as much of the cause of the problem as the new higher compression. Your tuner will increase the O2 transport delay to correct this.

I have heard both sides of an argument on this one - one side says that the adaptive will work on the problem over time and correct some of the fueling issue - the other side says it has to be adjusted in the tune immediately.

I would try higher octane fuel and conservative driving, as suggested, until the tune is updated.

Yeah due to turn around times, i think im gonna purchase a SCT X3 and get 3 custom tunes. Also Troyer is a state away!!! which is cool. Im probably gonna try to sell my edge first. Im running 91 octane on towing right now with the timing bumped up 2.0

Take the timing back to 87! With the headers, that just makes it worse!

If you think Troyer will get the tunes to you sooner than PHP, good luck.

really? it took more miles for code to show up on that tune than the others. really? I mean i'd love to have the PHP tuner and custom tunes becuase i like the display... but 6 weeks?!?! i cant go that long with out it! and i've heard Troyers turn around is alot faster than 4-6 weeks.

look, it's running lean. You need to get more octane than the tune calls for. The headers are scavenging the combustion chambers. It's your engine, if you leave the headers on, run level 2 as it comes canned, it is naturally a little richer. Then run 91 and you may have a chance as long as you don't go WOT. It is that simple.

As for as Troyer, they are a great tune company, but enter the name in the Advanced Search. They and PHP are both taking awhile. VMP has been the only quick turn around tuner and he may be getting a little back logged.

come to think of it, i dont feel like dropping anymore money after i just put ALOT in it for this $#%$# head gasket and all the other BS that went along with it! I think ill send my edge out for a week or so, get it convert to a Gryphon, run the level 2 on 91 octane no moving the timing until my ustom tunes are sent to me a month and a half later. i just hope a month to a month and a half of possibly running lean doesnt mess anything up

ok, but to send it in, you need to return to stock tune. Keep running the 91 even on the stock tune.
