EDGE PROGRAMMER Trans Shift Problems

I have a 2001 SC with 5.4L and 4R70W trans. I went to change my shift settings for WOT 1-2 shift. I set it at 3800 rpms (stock is 5100 i think)
and it shifts right at 3800 like its supposed to BUT if I stay at WOT it DOWNSHIFTS BACK INTO FIRST until i hits the factory shift point of 5100. UGh! anyone had this problem or know whats going on??

Thanks!

I don't know what is causing it, but I know your WOT shift point is way too low. I would set it no lower than 5000,5000, and 4800 for the 3-4 shift. Also, you MUST have the Max RPMs at least 400 above the highest shift point, so in this case, 5400.

I have it low because I believe my prmiary 1-1, 1-2 clutches are a little worn (really hard 1-2 shift) I wanted it set low to avoid the belt chirping/pavment melting 1-2 launch.

Try reducing the pressure on the 1-2 shift. I think your low rpm shift is really confusing the PCM.

If you have an Edge, it is. You can + or - percentage points. I ran mine at +12, +12 and +9 for the 3 shifts. If you don't have a manual, you can go to the Edge website and print one off.
