I know little about it, but it;s my understanding that the tune in the PCM controls the air/fuel ratio, even if you have an intake providing more air. i have read that the stock MAF is capable of providing all the air the tune wants.

 

The Mafia is referred to as a maf extender. If your air meter has saturated, that is run out of electronic capacity to read the mass of air coming through you can add one these to make the maf behave as if it is larger. Some say it is a bandaid and a larger maf should be used. Some seem to have good results with them.

 

Level 0, no change
Level 1, leans the signal -5%
Level 7, richens the signal +5%

Level 2-6, need to be custom tuned.

 

What kind of truck do you have? What kind of mods do you have? I doubt that you are going to need a MAFia. The stock maf usually can support a lot of power.

Also, I've seen quite a few issues with the MAFia in the Mustang world. Most guys I know go with the maf that SCT sells.
