I have a Gryphon tuner and am trying to customize the level 2 default/canned tune but encounter a problem.
I select "2-87 towing" and then I go in to customize. The only thing I change is the "1-2" WOT Shift RPM from 5000 to 5200. I do the same for 2-3 from 5000 to 5200. 3-4 are lowered to 4800. I save the custom canned tune by selecting done on the display. After it writes to the PCM and completes the changes, I start the truck up and all is fine. From a stop, I gun the thing and at around 5300 RPM's it acts like it wants to shut down so I let off of the gas. I did not let it continue to run this way, I changed it back to the level 2 default/canned tune NO CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS, and it runs good without a problem.

what am I doing wrong here?

rev limiter is set too close to your shift rpms. give it a good 400-500 rpm cushion. that should solve the problem. did you adjust the mph shifts also? that will mess up if not synced right. good luck
