I was looking @ Troyer perfomance on getting the SCT X3 programmer, it says on there product description that it is for 1996 and up FoMoCo vehicles, but under the item description, the product supported vehicles is for F-150's 2004 and up. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to know somebody that is actually running this on an 2003 or older 2v 5.4L and what they think.

I"m using it on mine.

I recently switched from the Superchips tuner to the Xcal3 since I have custom tunes coming.

However right now I am using the "canned" tunes that came preloaded.

It seems to run fine. Comparable to the Superchips tuner.

Not sure if you need the Xcal3 for future custom tunes, but I think there are some Superchips tuners for sale in the classifieds section if you want to go that route.

 

Cool, when do you expect you custom tunes to come in. Did you get them from Troyer or PHP. Let me know how everything runs once you get the new tunes. Sounds like we have similar setup. I have Edelbrock shorties, MF high flows into Gibson super truck exhaust. K&N CAI, I plan on finishing w/ the SCT X3 and underdrive pullies.

I'm not sure when the custom tunes will get here. They are from Troyer, I sent in my data sheets on the 20th of Aug.

I'm hoping they will be here around Thanksgiving. Thats when I plan on installing the supercharger which is the main reason for custom tunes.
