got dyno tuned

i finally got my dyno tune done..only tuned for 87 octane..maybe could have made alittle more with 92 octane but oh well..we started at 160 and ended just shy of 175, and torque was 230 and ended at 233 but it was about 12ft/lbs more all through the rpm band once it started to drop off over stock.. i wish i had a print out of my base line to show my A/F with stock tune and no cats...it was a little leaner than whats in the pic but nothing to serious..i think it hit 14 but not sure and it started to lean up soon than the pic as well, around 4100rpm if i remember correct....here a link to the video

Are you running a V8? Any other mods? If its an 8 I'd have thought it would make bigger numbers. My 6 is pretty close in HP and just about the same Tq but I'm tuned for 94. But any gain over stock is a good thing.

yeah its a v8 4.6l out of a 02 mustang....at stock 4.6l on a 98 f150 dynos at about 140-145hp at the wheels..i have 4.56 gears, 35' tires, 75mm throttle body, pi heads, pi truck intake, underdrive pullies, afe stage 2 cai, no cats with a thrush welded muffler....think thats its nothing to serious..the truck fell flat after 4500-4800 rpm..it just couldn't breath anymore..i suppose the mustang manifold would breath better but would have less torque as well...so in my opinion coming in just shy of 175 is pretty good...you have to remember that i am probly loosing 110hp-150hp or more through drive train/tires etc and a tranny that has 280000km on it, and it never been rebuilt so i might be loosing some there as well

I think the 30 hp gain is very nice. The big tires are stealing a little, though. I wonder why it lays down at 3,650. Could it need more fuel pump at 4,500?

Good luck with those guys ... I've seen them blow up so many 4.6L 3Vs in S197 Mustangs that it's ridiculous. Keep an ear out for any sign of detonation.

i guess i have nothing to worry about then cause this motor is a 2v....lol

i might be pushing the max out of stock injectors..i had 22lbs (pink) injectors with me incase we maxed them out..no point in putting them in if i didn't need them

I know but still ..

I know a quite a few Canadians that have pretty badass S197s that actually flew a tuner out there to tune it because of Techmotion's rep.

Techmotion.
well for one..there isn't guys there..there is only one person..and he has been doing this for many many years..he's a computer wiz. he is highly recommended by the ford truck and mustang guys around here. he also has a 9 second mustang himself..and its tecmotion not techmotion maybe your thinking of a different shop..here's his site

your the first person that i have heard that doesn't like him

also i just found out that with the elevation change etc from calgary to where i am, there is about a 10% increase in hp so that would put me around the 190 at the wheels that even better..but next time the one shop here has there dyno days special i might get on there and see what it does here. just so i have a paper that says 190hp lol cause that better than 173hp lol..

wow..I didn't think you'd lose that much from the crank to the wheels, but factoring in the gears, tires and tired tranny, not bad #'s.
