I found a used edge tuner for 275 online is that a good deal? Do I need to watch for anything if i was to get it? Also I would like to get custom tunes is that possible with a used tuner. Thanks

 

I would not take a chance with a used unit since you do not know if it is locked. Plus no warranty....
If you want custom tunes, which eventually you will, I'd suggest PHP.....I am getting my unit with canned tunes from them soon for 399.00. This unit will be compatible for future customer tunes if you choose to go that route later. I believe each custom tune will run you 30 bucks a piece...

its deffinetly an attractive offer due to saving money from buying a new one, but like stated before its risky. if you cant meet the person an test it on your truck first to make sure its not locked then i wouldnt do it

 

You have no warranted and it can cost you $150 if you need to replace the card, so you should save at lease that much. Also, ensure you ask if the truck it was removed from was returned to stock. If it was not, then it will cost you $75 to get it reset.

 

What year is your truck?
What year is the edge coming off of?
Do you know that you won't have a warranty?
If you do buy it make sure their vehicle is put back to stock.
If it's for 97-03 PHP is still waiting on confirmation on those cables. But there is hope for custom tunes for the gryphon on those years.
