There have been a couple of guys that did not reset it to stock and the dealer reflashed the truck, which made their tunes worthless. I always set it back to stock and instruct them no reflash before discussing it with me.

There is also the good chance that should you have a warranty issue in the remaining 2000 miles that they will not honor it.

I certainly hope thats not the case. I brought it in because The truck developed a misfire on cyl. # 4, at startup and the first 1000 rpms under load. I have always used level 3, but when I first felt it I dropped down to level 2 to see if there would be any difference. there wasnt. so I put in a fress tank of 93, I was down below 1/4, and returned it to stock. The misfireing still continued. So I limped it in to get checked out.

If you left the Edge on and took it in for an engine problem you're pretty much at the mercy of the dealer. Hope things work out for the best!

My dealership down here in Fl never said anything. I always flashed back to stock and then left it unplugged and tucked the wire up inside. The edge was still in the pod like normal. I never had a problem doing it this way. I did have the same questions as you, but I wouldnt worry so much.

Yep, as was said above, you are pretty much at the dealers mercy. Sounds as if your dealer is cool with it. Mine told me the first time that they saw the Edge that I would have a problem if I needed warranty service. That was why I waited till my warranty was almost out to get a tuner.

It's really pretty silly. The tuner does no harm as long as you have a properly written tune. The flogging it after you get the tuner might do some damage, though.

Well It looks like Ill be ok, The #4 misfire was the result of a cracked plug that they installed 12k miles ago. And they will be replacing my right side cam phazers under warranty. ( had the tik tik tik) My cost the $100 deductable. But I will still be without my ride till mon. or tues.

Sounds as if you are getting a good outcome.

I would take the $100 bill any day over the $1800 bill.
Good for you!

good news

You want to hear the good news first? It only cost me $100 they replaced the cracked plug they installed 12000 mikes ago and changed the right side Phazers and sylenoid (forgive spelling). Too bad the tech left a shop rag down near the p/s pulley, left my door panel all greasy. And I noticed he left my edge set on level 3 , I dropped it of it was set on stock. Fourtunately I found the rag before it caused any damage , And grease cleans off. Makes me question their labor practices though. I was hopping this would be the dealership I would build a relationship with but they all seem to f something up when they fix another. More good news I did catch a real nice bass with my son this morning

The Tuner is a real temptation to them to find out what it will do.

Besides your tuner being on level 3?! Check the custom options also. To make sure everythings ok. Good luck on catching some more fish.
