Smile got my Edge today!!!

came home from a bad day at work and what was waiting at the back door for me but my Edge!! it really fixed my day!!

spent some time doing an update and then installed it. it never did show a screen with my hex code. should I be concerned?

played around with all the different gauges. put in some custom settings: 5100/5100/4800 WOT shifts, 5500 rev limit, +9/+9/+4 shift, 1.4 on fuel, level 2 tow.

bumped up the idle 100 since when at the slightly inclined end of my driveway it tends to coast back when my foot isn't on the brake.

i filled up with 17gal of 89 octane, but have a 27 gal tank. wasn't sure if I could up the timing just a tad or not. I could probably go .5 up since 70% of the tank is 89 couldn't I? on my next tank I will fill with 89 again, and should be able to go up a total of 1, right?

thanks to all the info from Bluejay, GroovyChick & JackandJanet, just to name a few.

tried a few 0-60 runs and got 8.1 as my best (not bad for a big 'ol truck). tried a 1/4 mile run but didn't find a back road long enough yet and had to abort.

currently have oil/water/tranny and cylinder head temps showing. probably keep the first 3 for sure with towing and play around with the fourth gauge a bit.

custom tunes may still be in the future, just gonna have some fun with it for now and see where I want/need to go. way too much fun right now

Yes, you can bump the timing .5 for this tank. You could probably go +1 with no problems.

I keep thinking of an old b&w Frankenstein movie and when he rises off the table Dr. Frankenstein says "IT'S ALIVE!!!"

After you run a tuner for awhile, going back to stock is just not acceptable! They make the truck fun to drive.

lets see if I can do this off the top of my head without looking at the unit. go to diagnostics, then tech support. hit Enter, it will show the 800 number for tech support. hit enter again, then there is a menu that has "Version Info", "Truck Info", and 2 or 3 others. I believe it was under "Version info"
