performance upgrades

Would a CAI new exhaust and edge programer be a good combination? Ive heard that combination would let the 4.6L keep up with mustangs. I have a 2008 f-150 stx 2wd 4.6L

I would say that's a damn good start! Although I have heard if you run a CAI you should get custom tunes. A Gryphon in your case.

For the money, custom tunes are the way to go. It's worth the difference.

Yeah I know if I get the edge ill need it tuned. Want to get the exhaust and CAI then get the edge from PHP with the custom tunes. Any one got that combination?

How extensive is your exhaust going to be?
If it's cat back, high flow cats, and or true duals with x-pipe it should be ok.
If you put LT headers on you need a tune though.
Good idea not to put cai until you have custom tunes on these trucks.
Just get the gryphon first.

I just want a flowmaster dump. But shouldnt I get the cai and exhaust then the tuner. So I can just order the edge from PHP with the custom tunes to compensate for the cai and exhaust?

You can get a CAI before a tune, but its not suggested to "install" until you get your custom tunes programmed in. The exhaust is fine to go ahead and install. And from what ive read here your looking at about a 3 month wait for custom tunes. Which to me would not be a problem because a good product takes time.

Stock 2005+ V6 mustang will still be faster.

The 4.6l 2v uses a tonsil style MAF sensor located in a housing, which is re-used. It does not need to be tuned, but can be if necessary.

you can get by without the custo tunes since you have a 2 valve motor but you can get better performance / mileage / driveability from custom tunes
