Dyno Diablo VS Troyer Mail order tune

Ok ... having my L swap installed in the next coulpe of weeks...the shop specializes in Ford cars/trucks they also have a dyno in the shop...my question is, I currently have a SCT programmer and tunes from Troyer on my N/A 5.4...the guy at the shop told me he does not like SCTand uses the Diablo chip set on the dyno..... my question is should I go with a dyno tune and new chip set? or sent out new tune sheets to troyer and data log the rest to dial the tune in ? THanks

I would say Troyer hands down except for the long waits I hear about with his tunes and retunes. So, I vote for the dyno guy to get things corrected and safe.

Anytime, you can have a qualified, competent person "tune" your vehicle on a dyno, it's a better option than any mail order tune.

I see what you're saying but Mikes tunes have been dead on each time for me and many others

I'd be leary of the dyno shop and start checking out the reputation of the shop before they touched my truck

I agree, that is why I said qualified and competent. I have no doubt that Troyer knows his stuff but he is still "miles" away and trying to tune a truck that is not in front of him.

Now, if he had your truck on a dyno in front of him...that would be the best of both worlds!

I purchased My Procharger used a few years back and included in the price was a Dyno tune. At the time it seemed like to wise thing to do because I wanted to be able to safely drive the truck. After about a year and countless hours trying to get the tune to work properly I finally called Mike Troyer. I was given the appropriate amount of sh_ it for not calling sooner. I should have. What a difference in the performance. I still have to get back with a data log session so the tune can be tweaked.
