purchased used gryphon..need help!!

i purchased this programmer used from another member and just received it.
i plugged it in and looked through stuff not sure what i was doing but not changing anything. i finally looked at the programming stuff and it said transmission only, perf 89, and perf 93 (obviously custom tunes because canned is 87 tow, and 91 perf. so i didn't mess with those because they were for his truck i assumed but figured maybe the transmission only will work for my truck so i tried inputting it, it said it had loaded engine went in to failsafe mode and it didn't work programmer said failure F1 or something and call tech support so i tried once more and it said DCT failure or something like that and flashed red and green. soooo dose anyone know if i can clear it off and set it up for my truck or do i have to send it to some one? im really hoping i can do it myself it would save me a lot of time thanks!

Return the truck's tune back to stock. The HEX code does not match your truck, at least I think this is the issue. Contact Bill at PHP, Corey is sick right now but he might be able to get you going again. Great people who are nothing less than helpful. Did you know it had custom tune on it?

What you bought is a Gryphon that has custom tunes already in it. It is tuned for one specific HEX code. You will need to get tunes for your truck, for your HEX code. YOu need to contact PHP, possibly they can send canned tunes until you get new custom tunes.

bluejay-

i planned on doing what you recommended, run canned tunes for a while and see what i like/dislike and then go from there so i have already put my stock intake on and am now just trying to get the canned tunes.

Call Bill and do what BlueJay said, see if you can get (pay or free) some canned tunes emailed to you and load them in the gryphon yourself.

That is one of the problems with buying a used Gryphon or Xcal3 as they are sold new with canned programs but are designed to be custom programmed. If thay have been custom programmed, they are good only for a vehicle with that specific HEX code, or calibration. There are hundreds of calibrations, so odds are slim for a match.

I am sure Bill can tell you how when you talk to him...but there was a thread over at the php forum that told how to get the canned tunes back through a pegasus update (the gryphon software). But I can't find it now.

I doubt those are custom tunes by the way... my Gryphon came loaded with a canned 93 Performance.

If it had an 89 Perf, I suspect it has to be custom.
