Ok I bought a used 2 month old Edge and I gotta say I love the way my new truck runs on the performance tune. And I say new truck cause thats what it feels like now. It runs now like it should have from the factory. Ive been trying to keep up with all the treads on the gryphon and from what I gather I cant just upgrade my edge to a gryphon..correct? I think that kinda sucks cause from what I gather the gryphon seems to run as good on level 1 as the edge does on level 3. Any way I have a question about the level 3 tune on the edge. Is that tune based on 91 octane if so I would think that I should be able to bump the timing up a little bit if I run 93 in my truck. Any one with info please chime in. Thanks.

 

You are correct on the octane, it's in the manual. Bump it .5 for each octane, so at least +1.0 for 93. I ran +1.25 with no problem.

The canned Gryphon tunes are the same as the Edge tunes. The reason you have to send the Edge in to be reskinned as a Gryphon is a legal issue. It is very low in cost, and I can assure you, worth every penny. I put 31,000 miles on the Edge level 3, then got the Gryphon custom tunes. I have put 22,000 on them and they are awesome.
