Spedometer and Odometer questions

I just got my 08 F-150 lifted 6" and put 35" tires on. It looks great but the odometer and the spedomoter are both way out of wack. Is there any way that this can be reprogrammed without taking it in anywhere? Also I'm wondering how this could affect my warranty as I have no way of proving how many kms are actually on the truck. Any advice would apprecitated. Thanks

There are a multitude of programmers you can buy online and have shipped to you. I have a Hypertech Max Energy that allows you to adjust for tire size, gear ratio changes, fuel type, change shift points, max rpm, max speed, and shift stiffness. I think I payed about $400 for it. Hypertech also makes a cheaper programmer that just addresses speedometer calibration.

just make sure you return to stock and remove the tuner before taking it in for any kind of dealer service and theyll never know you have one or be able to use your tuner for any kind of warranty denial.

Some dealerships will blame your lift and bigger tires for a lot of things too and deny the warranty usage. Just go the route I did and forget all about it all together!

Ya its probably smarter to fight that battle when it starts. I still have 120 thousand clicks before my warranty runs out. Thanks for the feedback.

yeah that warranty might have been done with the lift and tires, and about the dealer not knowing about your little tuner if you set it back to stock, they will. when they plug their 50k machine in they can see exactly what you did and what you changed, even if you changed it back to stock. then for kevin i'd get an edge programmer from autoanything.com (its on sale till 4/30) and yes it will void your warranty.

good luck
