Transmission Issues / Change Settings?
Regarding my posts at https://www.f150online.com/forums/tr...ml#post3651826, I'd like to see if there is anything I should modify on my Edge programmer.
I put it on a while back, and only ran it in performance mode for a while, then switched back to completely stock. It helped a pinging issue I had.
My understanding based on a post there is that my using the performance mode should not have made it likely to have been the culprit in the destruction of my transmission. I however, don't recall all the changes that the stock "performance" mode of the Edge would do.
So, my ultimate question is: should I feel comfortable leaving the Edge's canned settings as-is? I have thought about getting custom tunes for it, to get exactly what I want (mpg?, towing, and performance/towing)... If that is my answer, I'll do that. My truck is not a race vehicle for me, and I mostly use the edge at the moment as a diagnostic tool, and to give me an RPM display (which my XL did not get from the factory).
