Need tuner advice.

So. I've been talked into buying a tuner/chip/programmer, whatever the correct term is. What do I need to know about these things before I start shopping around. Any advice/tips/info is greatly appreciated. I no absolutely nothing about these things, I've never even seen one in person.

And why doesn't my signature show up? It's frustrating me.

Go to this section and start reading the threads that sound interesting. It has all been said many times. https://www.f150online.com/forums/ch...rogramming-34/

I'd call the companies in which you're interested and ask lots of questions.

Gryphon is the most popular programer by PHP, however it is up to you for what applications you want to use it for. If you are going to use a CAI, headers and so on and if you are going to tow from time to time I would suggest a Gryphon by PHP, they are a good company with excellent customer service. Visit their website and ask them about their product. Good luck.

I think this is great advice. The top 3 programmers all are known for their customer service so none of them will refuse to answer your questions. Remember they are all probably pretty busy though so if one talks to you right away and another doesn't don't take it as a sign.

Super chip!

What ever you get dont get a supperchip.... I have had one in my 7.3 and my f150 and I have had to put tranmisions in both. ITs not just me ethr a couple of my friends have had the same prob. It almost turned me against auotmatics but shortly after buying a 6speed dodge cummins I learned that it was my tuner that was causing all the problems!
