There is nothing you can adjust, that is what the custom tune does. Some have not had a problem, just not worth the risk to me.

You might not run lean, that's normally the issue. Some trucks already run lean without the mods, some run rich. You're truck could be an exception to the Edge + CAI = BAD. It just depends on if you want to take the risk.

Well, that makes it simple, doesn't it?

About the only benefit you would get is the sound of the air moving without a silencer and it would look good. You won't really get much HP without a tune that uses the increased air flow.

Silencer? You mean a helmholtz resonator

CAI and EDGE

Ive read alot and learned alot here in the forums. Im sure there are some that run lean, and some that do not. I also believe we all would be better off with a custom tune. Driving style and modifications can make all the difference. I have yet to order my custom tunes , But will someday soon. My observation on my 05 5.4 . Running the Roush CAI, Roush Offroad cat back, and an Edge. is that with a wide variety of driving conditions. that includes alot of backroad blitzing , Highway top ending , and streetlight to streetlight tire abusing my tailpipes still show signs of running rich. I have experimented with mostly level 2 and 3 programs running on 93 octane, watching for my MPGs and total miles per tankful. Ive got the best milage on level Two and the biggest grin on level Three.
