Need Help Finding Good Tuner For 08 V10

Just got a new f250 V10, I would like to get more power out of it without spending thousands of dollars. Looking for advise on a tuner. Anyone with experience on V10's please let me know what you have used and who is good, also what to expect for HP and Torque gains using 87 octane gas.

Thanks,
Mike

talk to Toyer, PHP and VMP

P.S. you'll get more power/torque and mileage out of 91-93 octane

Sadly, the Gryphon doesn't yet support the 04 + gasser F-250/350 and up. This includes the V10. We are working on it but don't expect to be releasing until late December. You best bet is to go with Troyer or Justin. They will certainly get you taken care of.

Good luck.

Its pointless to even ask about a tuner on this site. Everyone will tell you to go with the xcal2 or 3 from troyer or PHP. They also will suggest the edge or gryphon. Dont even bother asking them about others like diablo, superchip flash paq, Bully dog, or even hypertech. They will all tell you that custom tunes are the BEST! But for someone that wants alittle more power or gas mileage without 1.) spending alot and 2.) wants something simple that is plug and play thats takes a few minutes of their time to install.

There, that is my rant for the day and good luck with whatever you end up going with.

I would certainly not begrudge anyone their rant. I have a few myself from time to time. However, I would like to offer a few things to think about...

I wonder why? Don't you think people have tried others? People are going to recommend what they like and what they feel was a good value. I'm not saying the Diablo, Superchips, Bully Dog, Hypertech, or anyone else make an inferior product or even have poor support, but there's a reason the same people keep getting recommended over and over.

Are you saying they're not? That there's no benefit to going with custom tuning versus canned, even on a stock vehicle? What if they have mods or plan on them down the road? It's nice to keep the options open.

Along with the names you mentioned, the X-Cal, the Evo and the Gryphon all have quality canned tuning, are plug-n-play, and they do it at a fair price. The Evo and Gryphon may be a little more expensive than the X-Cal, but it is a different style of tuner for a different market and I'd say it's priced accordingly. In fact, we've recently adjusted our pricing structure on the Gryphon simply because we recognized that not everyone wants or need custom tuning.

I'll be the first one to recommend another product if what we offer doesn't fit a potential customers needs and do so pretty much on a daily basis.

Take care and Happy Thanksgiving!

Ok,
So those of you who have stock V10's in your trucks, what kind of gains have you seen with one of these "canned tuners"
