Gryphon is now available for the 2005-2006 Expy!

Hey all...

Just wanted to let everyone know that we finally have updated the Gryphon firmware code to program the 2005-2006 Expeditions. Calibration results from our vehicle have show 1.5 MPG increases around town with over 3 MPG increases on the highway. (Keep in mind that it has a 3.30:1 gear ratio) As soon as we get a chance, we'll be heading back over to the dyno to get some final power gain numbers, but so far it looks to be in the 28-30 HP range.

At this time we do not offer the full dash-mounted pod like the ones for the F150, but Edge is working on it and will be getting them produced as soon as they can. In the mean time, the unit can be mounted with an available aluminum L-bracket to the corner of the dash and it actually looks pretty good. I'll have some pictures up shortly.

If you have any questions, please give us a shout.

Bill- Some what off topic but can you do a tuner for a 07 Edge? Parents have on and wonder what it would do...

Don't think for a minute I haven't thought about an Edge for an Edge! (Or a Gryphon for an Edge, as the case may be!) I've had a few people asking about it, but honestly just haven't had time to look into it. Software-wise, I been able to program every PCM that Ford offers, it's just a matter of finding a few moments to be able to stuff that into the firmware.

With the 05-06 Expedition finally added, we are currently working on adding the 07 & 08 Expedition. We are also working on the 04+ F250/350 gas applications since outside of the firmware changes, all the hardware and mounting pods are already available. Eventually, we'd like to expand to cover all 97 and later non-car applications... Basically, Trucks and SUVs.

Maybe now would be a good time to ask what some of the more popular vehicles would be to concentrate on. Would folks with Explorers, Sport-Tracs, and Rangers be interested in programmers, or is it just the big trucks?

Anyway, just some random thoughts.

On Edit: I forgot to mention that we should have the 4.2L V6 included soon, too.

My dad rode in my truck for the first time today- and was in pure shock about how much the tuner did.. Needless to say- anything he can help you do as far as programming the Edge(SUV) he is in... It would almost be kinda scary to ride in a tuned truck with him...

Jon

PS- I will call ya in the AM to get my towing tune working.. Gotta used it this weekend..

I'll tell ya, the Edge (SUV) is a nice looking little ride. I am so SICK of the X-Boxes (Xb's) I see running around here not to mention that Pontiac SUV thing (not the Trans-Port minivan) that never quite looked right. If finances permit, I may pick up one next year.

I'll look forward to you call in the AM. Take it easy!
