i have a 1998 f150 3door with the 4.6L and a auto tranny and all i really plan on doing is a intake and true duals with a x pipe and maybe some gears. i want the tuner to help the truck shifter harder mostly. and to help it in the 1/4 and aclleration. by what i just told you wich tuner sounds best for me i was thinking about either the Edge Evo or the SCT X3. my main concern is tunning the tranny tho. thanks for any help.

i have a VMP tuned Xcal 2. it works great. wouldn't trade it for anything.
dad has a PHP tuned Gryphon. the improvement felt about the same on his truck as mine.

i had an edge originally. truck broke down twice with only 6k miles on it. the 1st time i almost got t-boned because it stalled in the middle of an intersection. ditched the edge, and got the VMP, not 1 problem since. basically, get custom tunes what ever you do.

 

yeah, the main difference between those two is the x-cal is custom tuned, and the edge has the gauges. im running the edge right now(waiting on my custom tunes from php) and it runs great. either one will work fine.
