is there a big difference

ok after bout 10 months when i first got my Xcali 3 i finally got ahold of the custom tunes n i all have to say is holy shyt. my truck definitely has some b*llz now! it was not troyer fault that it took so long i was just so busy n lazy when i wasnt busy. but i did also go through alot of trouble with the xcali 3 bein compatible with my truck. finally got it workin n finally received the tunes! now the 87 perfomance is amazing but i was wondering exactly how big is the difference if i fill her up with 93 n load that performance tune? is it worth the extra money in gas? will i get better gas mileage if i keep my foot out of it b/c of it being higher octane? thanks in advance...i approve of troyer! haha

I always thought that it did increase MPG a little. The extra cost of the gas offset the savings, but you have a little extra power with the 93 tune when you need it.

I thought I did an excellent job myself, but I just wasn't sure. Thanks for reassuring me.

Put your 93 tune in, the extra cost of the fuel is outweighed by the increase in mileage (and performance) pretty quick. You won't be disappointed

I find it hard to believe that you get that much better fuel economy with 93 over a 87 tune. At least not to justify an extra $.25 per gallon. Even the guy who tuned my truck said he didn't understand how people are making these claims because there isn't enough changed. I personally think it's bs but it's just me.

With my canned Edge tunes, I got 11% better mileage with the 93 over the 87. With Bill's custom tunes, I get the same, however, he has said that is not normal and has offered to look at it, but I didn't want to mess with it.

The is a difference of thinking and doing the math. I get 13mpg with 87 and 15mpg with 91. I save 25 cents each gallon. So every 100 gallons of gas i save $25. It just depends on the actual mileage you get.

2 mpg with 93 over 87? With the same tunes? I really don't buy that at all.

Don't, i am not asking you to. My truck on 87 octane is crap compared to 91. I can get 5-8 more degrees of timing with 91 over 87.
