Suggestions

Hey guys,

I just had a Rize 8" inch suspension lift, 20" Moto Metal 950s, and 37x13.50X20 Nitto Mud Grapplers put on my 2006 FX4 Screw.

What I was thinking of getting my truck re-geared to 4.88 for both front and rear and some kind of tuner/programmer. Honestly I don't know which would be more of a priority to install to try and save me some MPGs.

I haven't made up my mind yet, but my goal is to try and get more MPGs. Also I've done some homework on tuners/programmers and I haven't seen one that really stands out. My driving consists of 60% highway, 25% city, and 15% off-road.

Also one more thing does anyone know or heard anything about the Fitch Fuel Catalyst? Is it worth the money?

So if any of you guys have any suggestions from personal experience, don't hesitate to let me know, thanks.

The 4.88s are going to help out immensely. I'd get a custom tuned Xcal3 from a place like VMPTuning.com, S&B cold air intake, and an exhaust system. It will be the best bang for your buck. It should add quite a bit of power and even some mileage. I had the same set-up and was very happy with my truck's performance. I'll post up a picture of it later.

ThumperMX113,

Thanks for the advise, I forgot to mention that I also have a K&N Intake and a Flowmaster exhaust system. I'll have to look into the tuner to figure prices and install info.

Yeah I looked up the Xcal3 on their website, and I gotta say I liked what they said.

Honestly a buddy of mine was telling me about Edge, and how it was this great product...I guess I was just trying to cover all of my bases.

Also from what guys were saying on this blog, Edge doesn't have a great reputation for quality products.

if you are gonna get an edge, i would suggest getting the gryphon. its a re-badged edge that can be custom tuned. you're gonna need custom tunes of some kind for that k&n so that you dont run lean. the edge cant be custom tuned, hence why u would need a gryphon. here's a link for the gryphon:

power hungry performance

good luck either way!

I had an Edge and got rid of it for a Xcal2. I was pretty pissed that I had spent the money on the Edge when I could of done it right the first time. I've already used my Xcal2 for two vehicles so I'd say it's paid off !!

Question??
Do you think you might have kept your edge if PHP was around?
