Talking Getting some custom tunes!

I have finally decided to purchase some custom tunes! Now the hard part for me is to decide which company I wanna use! I am debating between VMP and PHP! If I decide to use VMP what's the difference between and Xcal2 and Xcal3? If I decide to use PHP can I just get the tuner without the guage pod since I already have a Scanguage II? The price of the PHP is a little bit higher than the VMP also! I would like an 87 performance 87 towing and a 91 performance does both tuner's offer these setting's? I will be ordering my tunes in the next couple week's so i'll be putting my Hypertech Max Energy in the classified's and on ebay selling it pretty cheap!

I'd just get the Xcal3 if you decide to go with VMP because it'll have better resale value and it's the newer version. This is what VMP's website says about the Xcal3 ...

ABOUT THE NEW SCT X-Calibrator Version 3
The X3 is the newest flasher from SCT. It was necessary for SCT to introduce this product to support future vehicles with new processor types. The X3 does not add any significant end-user functionality over the tried and true X2. The X2 is still a current product that VMP will continue to sell and support.
As far as using the Gryphon without the gauge pod it's possible but than it kind of defeats the purpose. Both tuners can be tuned for whatever you want as well. Both choices are great choices and which ever one you choose, you'll be more than happy.

Good luck !!

Thanks! I do like how the Gryphon/Edge guages show you an estimate of what your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are though! I was mainly just wondering if the guage pod came separate to save a little money just by getting the tuner itself! If that's not the case then i'll be getting the Xcal-3! The main reason i'm getting custom tunes is because I'm beginning to purchase more mod's then I had planned for my truck and I need to get my tune adjusted for either a 2.5"AF1 or a Roush intake! I really need to just think of a reason to drive to Florida and get a dyno tune!LoL

The Scangauge does 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, too.

How do I get the scanguage to do 0-60 and 1/4 mile times? I didn't have any idea about this! LOL

I'm not sure. I don't have one. I've been told they do 0-60 and 1/4 mile times though. I could be wrong as I've never played with one.

The scanguage doesn't show 0-60 and 1/4 times like the Edge's guage pod does! Unless their is something that I don't know about!
