Hey all, here is the deal, got a good deal on a 4.6 last year, and since then put on a nice sound system and a cat-back flowmaster si-do super 40... Now i am looking to upgrade with troyer performance a AIRAID and XCAL 3.

Now from personnal experience or comments or anything... is it worth the 600-700$ or will the difference be so slight that it wont show as much as if it was a 5.4.....

Should this be done and the money invested will result in anything major?

I have an '05 STX scab 4x4 with the 4.6.

I have the roush CAI (same as airraid), roush off road exhaust, and Livewire with Troyer tunes.

The exhaust and intake helped a bit, but the custom tuning made it feel like a whole new truck. Best thing I have done, by far. I will have every vehicle I own from here on out custom tuned. Well worth the $$$ IMO.

 

I'd go with a S&B or AF1 3.0" and a Xcal2 or Xcal3 from VMP Tuning.

 

it will make a huge difference. But get the VMP tune and you cant go wrong
