I know this is a f150 forum but i was wondering a friend has a gmc 2004 durama 6.6l and it came with the diablo predator, and wondering which tune should it be tuned to and which one will get the best gas mileage as well

40 RWHP and 100-ft/lb TQ: Tow Tune, made specifically for towing. DiabloSport recommended weight limitations based on manufacturer suggested limits for the vehicle.

65 RWHP and 150-ft/lb TQ: Economy Performance Tune, designed for Economy and Performance, fuel economy depends solely on driving style, and will vary from vehicle to vehicle. DiabloSport recommended weight limitations of 8,000 Lbs.

does the 65hp one mean you have to tow things that weigh at least 8klbs or you shouldnt go over 8k lbs

the truck will be used for towing maybe once a week and its around 7klbs total so which tune should be used

tow when pulling the 7k lbs and the other when just driving

I think they put the 8,000 pound limit for the 65hp tune because that tune says it is for performance. You should be fine wit the 7,000lb your talkin about, but you can just put it on the "Tow" tune. That tune is set up for towing and better shifts. The 65hp one is when you want to go out and have fun.

yea its got a 80, 100 and 120hp as well the 120 220ft of torque is for real fun

how much of a difference will it make in these trucks

 

My buddy has a 2007 F250 6.0l and he got the Edge and has it on the tow tune and it has a lot more power and git-up to it. He hasnt put it on the performance tune (100hp) because he tows a cattle trailer around a lot. But ya, u'll notice a difference. It'll be fun.
