PHP and SCT

Hi there!

We wanted to let everyone know that we now carry SCT products --in addition to the Gryphon and Edge's full line of products -- and can custom tune the XCal3. From time to time, we receive phone calls from customers who don't need the gauges provided by the dash-mount Gryphon, and we're pleased to be able to provide them with additonal choices.

We look forward to working with the employees and engineers at SCT. They are very knowledgable and have a great history in the aftermarket performance industry.

Please call us with any questions!

So does this mean we can send the age-old question of "which one is the better buy" to you guys now??? I didn't see it on the website yet, but do you have a price yet? Timeframe of when it's going to be available for sale?

Yeah... I hadn't thought about that. When the question is posed, many people post about "the XCal3 from Troyer or VMP or the Gryphon from PHP!" Now what?!? We've really screwed with the automotive performance gods, the alignment of the stars, etc.

Since we'll be out of the office for the next two weeks, I'd look for it to be available during the week of September 22nd. It's not "proper etiquette" to discuss price on the forums, but if you e-mail me at corey@phptune.com, I'll be happy to share.

Tuning from PHP is tuning from PHP, it would come down to what device YOU would want to buy or already have.

Gotcha...I simply asked since I was also looking at the sale price of the Gryphon there as well. I'll give you a ring when you guys get back in from your trips, that way I can still shop around for opinions and such. I've got a few race days coming up and I'll see what some of the people there have to say as well.

Thanks again and look forward to purchasing with you soon.

Absolutely! It's simply a different platform and a different price schedule due to each programmer's features. It will be nice to be able to offer a choice to our customers.

suzuki...I meant "best" as far as user interface and how each unit works and operates, etc. I understand that it's Bill's own proprietary tuning behind the scenes. But some people prefer how one works versus the other, and on PHP's end there may be glitches or technical issues with the hardware that they would give their opinion to. I like the gauges and design of the Gryphon myself, but if for whatever reason the XCal operated more smoothly or had fewer design flaws, errors, etc., and was possibly priced lower, then as a savvy buyer I could be swayed away from the Gryphon...

One other thing that I wanted a price on was the tuning program...but I'll include that in my email as well Corey. Thanks to both of you...

Tuning with the X2/X3/LW would also be a little more universal, as you can have the device loaded with VMP, PHP, TP (not toilet paper ) in each of the three slots.

Now all we need is a guinea pig to buy tunes from Power Hungry Performance, Troyer Performance, and VMP Tuning. Then he can run all 3 at the track for quarter mile times, and on the dynamometer. I'd love to see the track slips and dyno charts.

This is great!

I have troyer's tunes via the livewire right now, and I have been meaning to order a VMP tune. Looks like I will be ordering a PHP tune as well.
