PCM Question about O2's?
PCM Question about O2's?
I'm running my stock tune due to the display on my Xcal2 deciding not to work out of the blue.
I know my front O2's are in need of replacment, and I will be doing so.
I have true duals, and when I fabricated the new piping I didn't put bungs in for the rear O2's. On the stock tune, I'm getting CEL so I plugged in a set of MIL eliminators in and the o2's and have them zip tied to the trans crossmember so they don't melt anything when they heat up.
Now it won't come on within 30 seconds like before, but it comes on after about 15-30 minutes of driving. I've cleared it once, and it came back in about the same time.
*Do I have to have the rear o2's with their own bungs, even with MIL eliminators?*
I'm a month away from being able to afford a new tuner w/ tuning...... so I'd like to fix this the easiest way. If I have to add 2 bungs..... so be it.

A little additional info:
I was getting a P2270(bank 1, sensor 2) and P2272 (bank 2, sensor 2) CEL at first. My drivers side o2 was loose so I tightend it up, and reset the computer. Now the CEL comes on 15-30 minutes of driving.
I'm going to Autozone to get it scanned right now to see what code(s) it's throwing now.

I've never used or even seen them, but I thought that the mil eliminators took the place physically of the rear O2s, that is they plug into the the wiring which feeds back to the pcm. So, why would it matter if the O2s were in place at all?
They don't replace the o2's. The mil eliminators have a male and a female plug on it and plugs inbetween the plug on harness and the o2 itself. I guess it tricks it into sending info back to the PCM that all is well.
Ok, so you have deleted the cats (or not) along with other piping changes, so you added the mils.... the most common condition I found looking around.
I would think that they would still need to be in the pipes as they are reading free air if they are even marginally functional. Just a guess.
