Canned Tunes Vs Emailed Custom Tunes

Guys,

Is a custom mail order tune from Troyer or VMP much better than the canned tunes on the SCT Xcal3?

Thanks

Canned tunes= Difference
Custom Tunes= Big difference

Plus they are only like $20 more than canned tunes. Well worth the money. Definitely the best mod I've done for my truck so far. Small improvement in mileage, but big difference in power and driveability.

Thanks Guys!

From all I have heard about Justin at VMP, it sounds like he is the man when it comes to tuning our rigs.

the only down side is the wait to get the tune... I put my order in on July 7th, almost 2 months ago, seems like forever.

VMP only takes ~10 days so there is a minimal wait.

If someones goal was economy, I wonder is there is a graph for displaying wait times and how much money you could of saved if you got your tunes sooner compared to other companies.

That's true. I bet a lot of people don't even think about that aspect of it.

Here's a hypothetical situation.

Assume:
  1. 15 MPG pre tune, and 16 MPG post tune
  2. 200 miles per week
  3. $3.70 per gallon
  4. You can keep your foot out of the floor board after you get your custom tune

You would save $24.67 over the course of 8 weeks.

Again, these are all variables, but I would consider $25 to be a decent ballpark number.
