Is this setup safe? and am I dreaming?

I recently ordered a edge programmer and am about to order a Magnaflow si/do exhaust and AF1 intake/filter. I am putting this on my 06 FX4 supercrew 5.4, I have done a lot of research on this site and this looks to be a good combination of mods. My question is with this setup is it safe to run the edge on program 2 (87 octane fuel) and am I dreamin' if I think this is going to get me close to 350hp. What I really need is more torque, I pull my quad around.

The Edge is designed for stock engines, you can get by with the exhaust and a different air filter only. My Edge work's great on level 2 using 87 octane with my Flow 40 & K&N drop in filter. Changing the whole intake system will require custom tunes. Maybe a 20-25hp gain at top's but it feel's more than that!

Thanks, I think I may hold off on the intake for now!

the edge wasnt designed to work with an after market CAI, and your truck would most likely run lean. for sure get the exhaust. then you have to decide if you want both the edge and CAI. If you do, you might look into getting a Gryphon from PHP. Its the same thing as an edge, but they will get you set up with a custom tune to run with your CAI. im sure some other guys will give you some ideas too. I got a flowmaster super 44 si/do, then got an edge. I was planning on getting a CAI, but found out it wasnt a good idea with my current set up.

How does yours run with the exhaust and edge programmer? What level are you running on? How loud are the flowmasters? Sorry about all the questions!

Im running on level 3 right now. I use 93 octane gas. It's night and day difference from stock. I don't know about performance from the flowmaster. I've heard that most flows arent good for performance, just noise. But I really love the noise my super 44 puts out. They are pretty loud. I don't get to hear them fully because im driving and the cab blocks a lot of the noise(thats a good thing), but from what friends and people tell me they are pretty mean sounding.

If you havent already purchased your exhaust, i'd do a search or ask for some more opinions. I think at least once a week there is a "Magnaflow or Flowmaster" thread started. I recommend doing a search first, that way they don't give you hell for not using the "awesome" search feature.

I bought my Edge to adjust the speedometer for my 35" tires, also like the gauges and for everyday use it's great. My Flow 40 is loud when you "hammer down" but on the highway it's quiet. I get a slight drone at about 40 mph but not too bad. Hard to believe I can get up to 18mpg with this truck. I've yet to try it on level 3 with the 93 octane so I guess I don't know what I'm missing!

Just get a custom tuned Xcal2, Xcal3, or Livewire. If you're stuck on something that looks like the Edge, get the custom tuned Gryphon. It's the same exact thing but you'll be able to have custom tuning. It's leaps and bounds better than "canned" tunes. I also bought the Edge. I was very unhappy with it. I ended up getting a custom tuned Xcal2 which of course cost me more money in the long run. The AF1 3.0" tube is a great intake, it puts down great numbers.

Another good intake is the S&B, it's an enclosed design, so it protects the filter from any mud or water.

The Magnaflow exhaust system is a good exhaust system, a lot of people like it. I don't really like the sound though. If you were going to do a dual kit that exits under the rear bumper, look at the Roush "Offroad" exhaust system. It's an awesome kit, it's made by Borla to Roush's specs, and it sounds AMAZING !!

I hope this helps !!

So I should see a noticable difference in "power" if I stick with the edge (level 2), magnaflow si/do? I already have a drop-in K&n, so I am going to hold off on the AF1. I want to thank everyone for their input and help!

you will notice a difference i ran an edge intake and banks monster exshult, it was ok but after i got the supercharger i notice how much better the truck ran without the edge and intake. now as far as 350 hp lets wake up a little bit i believ these trucks put out about 220hp stock at the wheels so you got a while before you hit 350.

I think he must have been talking at the flywheel. You might be able to pick up an additional 50hp at the flywheel, but that will translate to only ~35 rear wheel Hp.
