ThumperMX....Need some help/pointers

I'm ready to place my order with Justin and get my xCal 3 w/ my 3 customs tunes.

im alittle confused though with some of the fields i have to fill out online to place the order. if you could give me a few pointers on what goes there, that would be great.

also do u think he could give me 2 gas tunes for my truck and 1 diesel tune for my dads truck?? i get three tunes, but it doesnt say they have to be for the same thing....does it?

thanks

It does have to be for the same vehicle. Tuner will be locked to your VIN.
I have VMP tunes, you'll be satisfied

As dly97 said, the tunes have to be for the same vehicle. The tuner can only be used on one vehicle. Now what fields do you need help with?

  • Computer Code or Strategy-What is this??
  • Modifcations and tune requests-Do I list the mods I have on my truck so he can tune air/fuel ratioa and that stuff correctly?
  • Optional: specify custom tune(s) not found on list-Is this for a different octane tune, other than what he offers, or for example a towing/perf instead of towing?
  • Optional Analog Input Cable-What is this, and do I need it?
  • Optional USB Cable-Im pretty sure I need this, but not sure...

thanks for the help Thumper, and sorry for all the questions.

No it's cool. I don't mind helping, it's the reason why I still stay around.

The comptuer code is very much needed. This is what Justin will make the tune off of and without it you won't have a tune. On the website, it'll say find computer codes and it'll tell you where to look for it. If you don't have a sticker, which you should, than you'll have to have Justin send you the tuner so you can read the PCM code and than he'll email you the tunes.

Just list out all of your modificaitons. This is what makes the tune custom. The optional tunes is for stuff that's not listed. Justin can write whatever kind of tune you want. Just fill it out. Basically the two cords are so you can plug it into the computer. I'd just buy it from a office supply store near you. The cable you want is one that has the basic USB cable that's a rectangle plug on one end and a "squarish" plug on one end, I believe it's called USB 2.0, like this ...

that looks exactly like a printer USB cable. but i know what kind your talking about.

anyways, i looked inside the passenger door jam. where is said to look, and found the sticker. im guessing the 4 BIG digitized numbers/letters is the computer code??

well i should have this ordered in the next week or so, we will c.

thanks for the help, and i will make sure to mention your name in the "How did you hear about us" section.

if i was able to, id buy you a couple of bruskies, but a few more years and i could.

Appreciate it!

No problem. I'm sure if it's wrong than Justin will contact you. When you get the programmer, read the PCM code before loading your tunes. Make sure it's the same one you gave him. If it's not, do NOT try to load your tunes.
