Anyone custom tuned an X3 for E85?

The custom tune on my '08 F150 for 91 octane yields about 1mpg improvement with equivalent drivability compared to the 87 octane tune. I'm wondering if a 93 octane tune would be an improvement over the 91 octane or better yet a custom tune for E85. E85 at today's gas prices is about 33% cheaper than 91. Considering that's what I've read that you need for a spread to break even, I figure that since it burns at about 105 octane it may improve performance somewhat further.

Has anyone else considered a tune for E85 or just run the 93 octane tune on E85?

Joe

Agreed. Justin is doing some research on it here shortly so all of us can have some information.

E-85 = Less Cost, More Power, similar fuel economy. 61,000 miles and counting since converting my 2004 F150 to run exclusively on E-85 and 149,600 total on the truck. Now, I am looking at turning it into Bi-Fuel using LPI.

I'm going to go back on what I did say earlier. I'm not sure what I was thinking. If I was agreeing it being a wash or whatever or simply didn't know. I do believe that E-85 is able to achieve higher power numbers. I believe there are a few vehicles running E-85 that are running some insane power numbers as well as 1/4 mile times. I swear I remember hearing about a car Roush had a hand in that was being ran with E-85. I'm still not exactly sure, I can't remember exactly what magazine had a huge article in it, it was a 'stang magazine, not too long ago. Who knows, I'm just ranting.
