MPG gains w/ tunes

I was wondering what kind of mileage gains people are seeing on average with custom tunes. It doesnt matter if you have a 5.4, 4.6, or 4.2, i would like to know the average increase using a 87 octane performance or mileage tune(doesn't matter if its Troyer or VMP, or anyone else). My dad wants to see some numbers before i buy, because he doesn't believe that i researched it. So if you guys to help me out, i can throw something together for him.

Thanks!

If you can really wait a month I can give you some more real world numbers. I'm driving from S. GA to Las Vegas and you better believe I'm loading up that 87 mileage tune!

In my car I used to have average 19 mpg with no tune, nothing. Now I average 21 mpg with the 93 octane performance tune. I can get 26 mpg on my 93 octane mileage tune driving a little slower.

If you research some of my previous posts, I drove from Kansas to Virginia (Troyer), had the truck tuned, underdrive pulleys and electric Fans before driving back

And now...it's for sale! I just wasn't willing to pay for poor gas mileage anymore.

I agree with you on this one, too. To sell strictly on the basis of poor mileage after you lifted it is insane, get real man.

Step up. Be your own man. Is your dad going to run your life forever? It's your truck. Why do you need his permission for this, or anything?

I installed a stage2 package in my rig, and was as meticulous about checking b-4 and after the mods--not just a tank or two, but repeatedly, and I actually lost mileage by about 1-2 mpg. The personality of the truck has improved dramatically enough to where I don't whine too much, although with all of the hype about better fuel economy in the products listings, I'm disappointed. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's 87 tow or 92 perf.
Part of the problem IMO, is that other than shifting, the tunes have done nothing for bottom end torque or throttle response. Where do you really need improvements in a 5000 lb. rig? Getting out of inertia. I'm turning 1600 rpm @ 62 mph. You lean into it at that rpm, and it doesn't do much. You romp on it, and that's a different story. But then, that's not conducive to fuel economy.
I'm not bitching. I'm happy with the WOT performance other than out of the hole, but the lower end is pathetic.
As far as mileage; 14-14 1/2, city/rural---17-17 1/2 highway.

Seriously, it's not like the post he was responding to was at all sarcastic or cutting. Totally out of line.

... Oh, wait.
