Tuning Mods - Advice

In process of putting order in for custom tunes through TP but admit a bit overwelmed by datalogging procedures and the requirement to put truck on dyno or purchasing the A/F meter as well as the X3 tuner.
Planning on using the K&N filter and MBRP dual side exit mufflers as well .. was going to use the AFi 3 but now have the K&N ( don't ask long story) Truck is 2007 SC FX4 4x4 5.4L

Any advice???

Most people do not datalog and put on dyno. TP's tunes are usually on the money so no adjustment is needed. If you have quite a few mods then I would put on dyno and datalog. Call TP if you have any questions.

If you’re going TP tunes you’ll be all set; they’re the best IMO

Just make sure you state all your mods on the worksheet you send back to TP and you'll be fine.

Like has been said, datalogging is only needed if you're running heavily modded (blown) or if you're having a problem with the tunes. Otherwise you can ignore the datalogging instructions.

I think you'll be pretty happy with your mods + Troyer tunes.. I know his tunes gave me a completly different truck.. LOL..

What did Troyer tell you that your wait time was? They told me 6-8 weeks but i might have misunderstood them and they really said 6-800 weeks.

FYI, when I ordered tunes on March 14, I was told 8-10 weeks. I called last week, and the wait time was revised to 10-12 weeks. I'm in no particular hurry, but admit to a bit of anticipation. Their busines must really be booming to have a back log of 12 weeks. That's good to hear, with our economy being like it is. I want my tuner to be successful, so that he stays in business for a looong time. I feel safer that wa.

My suggestion is Justin at VMP Tuning. He's got good prices, great products, great customer service. I've never had a problem with any of my tunes or his services. If you did ever have a problem feel safe that'd he'd fix it right away. Justin's turn around time is also very good, you'll probably have your stuff in a week or two.
