Ok.. I got my MAF out, but on my truck, and with my KN, it can't be put straight up and down, it's more.. left to right, and you could have it in backwards, but it was in correctly with the hole facing the filter..

I'm going to try to spray it clean though, hopefully that helps it..

Edit:

I did everything you said, unhooked my battery, cleaned that MAF.. the truck seems to be moving a little quicker now, but something is still off with the throttle response, it's almost like when I let off the gas, the truck is still reving a little?? Same kinda thing when I hammer on the gas, it's like it takes it a moment before it kicks it in.. I've been searching all over the internet trying to find answers to get better terms and vehicle knowledge to explain my situation better to you guys, fancy words like "throttle response"..

But I'm almost back to the bad gas idea I had in the beginning, because I put 19 gallons of new gas in tonight, that might be the reason I'm seeing improvement too, I noticed it some after I filled up tonight, be I arrived at the house shortly after I filled up and didn't get to mess around with it more. Cops are everywhere around here.. but I just took it out after cleaning that MAF for some late night driving on back roads trying to figure this thing out..

By the next time I fill up, if I'm still having problems.. I guess it's not gas related at all..

Yep, try running that tank of gas out.. but honestly, I believe that your MAF sensor should be oreinted 90 degress perpendicular to the ground, meaning it plugs in from the bottom side, pointing straight up.

I'd try moving that intake tube around some, some way that gets the MAF pointed in the right direction.

I honestly have no idea why it makes such a difference, but it does. Just the way that delicate thing is designed to function.

When I first put on my 3" AF1 I had the MAF off of perpendicular by maybe 30 degrees... My engine didn't like that at ALL...

Re-read the directions, looked for some advice on here, and yo... lol.. fixed everything by making that thing point straight up.

Now I understand you more, you mean see if I can make that thing plug into the bottom, which is how the stock one was, i think? I'll look at it again and see if I can move things around abit.

It's odd, after cleaning the MAF I didn't get instant results, but now a few days later, the truck is almost 100% better, it could be new gas, I don't know. But it operates right 80% of the time, instantly downshifting when I hit the peddle and upshifting as soon as I let off, I'm running performance mode and everything.. but sometimes it still acts funny and doesn't seem to be accelerating as quickly.

Well, another problem.. pulled in the driveway and the truck stalled out.[Not sure if stalled out is the correct term, as I was pulling in the driveway, and still in motion.. the truck just completely shut off] It wasn't running funny, or acting weird at all, no funny noises.. just completely shut off, instantly.. I had to restart it, and it started okay and let me move it to park.. I'm still wondering if this is a running lean problem? Or a MAF? It has got to have something to do with my CAI.

No, I haven't. I'm not very good at these things, and I'd probably have to pay for that, so I have put it off.. But I took my truck for a test drive.. and it drove fine, but pulling back in the driveway, just letting it sit there and idle. It sounded like it was going to die a few times, but didn't.. so I searched this forum, sounds like there are a dozen reasons these f150's stall out at stoplights. Now it's just figuring out which one is affecting me.. Maybe cleaning the throttle body?
