Dyno tuning?

rolleyes:

Ok Looking to get some dyno tuning done.. Specs 02 5.4l... I live in the orange county area C.A. What are your recommendations as far as a reputable shop in my area, and also is their going to be any differences between programming brands, Diablo flip chip, Xcal2, edge ... etc... Very confused between the different products the tuners are using... does it really matter since the truck is on a dyno?

Thanks: thumbsup:

Sorry I don't know much about this stuff.

I have the same dilemma, I'm in Temecula and looking for a decent dyno. No luck as of yet

Here's what i did, and it worked out okay:
Call local shops, or just walk in, and see how you're treated. Find out what products they excel in using. Some shops hate SCT tuners, some SWEAR by them. Call the better business bureau, and see if there's complaints against these said shops. People are quick to report local shops in the auto industry, as these shops stand in a great place to rip off people for a lot of money. Have to keep them honest, and most are. Talk to people at car shows, "club meets", or go to your local track. LOCAL enthusiasts have tried everything at least once, just gotta find the information. Asking on a random internet board doesn't do much but tell you where to order your programmer and tunes. If you want a local dyno shop, ya gotta ask local.

EDIT: As far as what tuner/programmer, its more about personal preference. But if the shop KNOWS what they're doing, SCT and Predators seem to be towards the top 9 outta 10 times. SCT3's are a BEAST! And if you really like it, pony up the cash for the Livewire. All cool things, but its really more important what the local shops are more comfortable tuning with.
